Brandon, thank you for this reminder which is quite timely for me. I am going to see my parents today who are both closing in on the end of their lives. They are frustrated, angry, and sad to have lost their energy, eyesight, and clearheadedness. They don't like the care facility where I have "discarded" them. I know they are now safer, healthier, and have a more vibrant lifestyle than they had maintaining their home of 60 years. It was killing them. Anyway, I'm going to visit them, take them some goodies, and most likely will listen to them complain and blame each other, me, and the lovely souls who work in the care home. I must ask God to give me smiles and love and patience today. I will need to hold my tongue when everything in my body may urge me into a snarky or nasty comment. Lord, please place me in their shoes today. 🙏
The death of patience and kindness... we really are on the edge these days. Scary times.
Love this perspective and your insights.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.
We need to always remember Jesus was a peacemaker and we should try to follow his example.

The best thing you can always take to your parents is your time with.
